ChinaUSLaw.org is an international, bilingual, non-partisan, non-profit legal resource, online community and service center offering substantial and specific information on law, legal practice and other related issues of and between US and China; also as a bridge for professionals and businesspersons between these two great nations. You are not only a visitor, but also cordially invited to become a participant, or a partner. We hope both American and Chinese legal professionals and all other visitors think our site is useful.

Our focus is not to introduce the law of the US or China in their very depth, as there are so many websites already available for this purpose. Instead, our primary goal is to introduce the connections, reciprocities, similarities and differences of law and practice between the US and China.

While we sincerely look forward to collaborating with various organizations and people, we are independent from and not controlled or influenced by any party. We respect and abide by both US and China law. We keep our site objective and politically neutral to ensure it is accessible by visitors from both countries.

If you are a professional, this is a platform for you to network with colleagues, share information, discuss legal issues, render pro bono legal services. We hope this site is helpful for developing legal career and serving the public.

Meanwhile, for general public, this is a resource to learn legal knowledge, find the right lawyer, and get services online. In addition, you may also help the improvement of legal profession by giving your view and suggestion.

As a bridge, this is a place to internationally exchange legal, business and other relevant information. Learning something about another country is always interesting, while sometimes it is critical.

Following China's entry into WTO, more and more opportunities are emerging between the US and China, between the most powerful and the biggest population in the world. Of course, risk always comes with opportunities. Your goal is to maximize your interests, while minimize your risk. There are so many differences in law, legal system, law enforcement, law practice, as well as culture and society. Never take anything for granted.

When doing business or living in a foreign nation, you definitely need be familiar with and adapted to the legal, commerical and social environment of both your home country and the foreign country. The law is of as much interest to the layman as it is to the lawyer. Sooner or later you will probably face a question, "Do I need a lawyer?"

Choosing the right lawyer probably is one of the most important decisions one can make. No matter you are an American aiming at Chinese market, or a Chinese targeting US market, you need lawyers from both nations work together to help your international business; especially, make sure they can understand, communicate and collaborate each other very well in implementing your objective.
